Hawk and Heron Clay take flight!

Hello! We are Esther and Beau Raymond and we are fundraising to get our small business Hawk and Heron Clay off the ground! Between the two of us, we have over 30 years of experience in Ceramics so we'd like to think that we know our way around a piece of clay. Over the past decade we have been involved in the community of northern metro Atlanta, from Roswell Clay Center West to Johns Creek Arts Center, teaching classes for kids and adults alike, participating in shows, fairs and summer camps and firing so, so, so many kiln loads of work. We love sharing our knowledge with others and seeing what clay (and our students!) are capable of.

In 2016, we bought a house in Cumming, GA. It had plenty of space for our future studio which we dreamed about working in, but life took a different course and between working full time and starting our own family our home studio took a backseat to reality.

We are now fundraising to fulfill to that reality, plus some. We are starting Hawk and Heron Clay, our very own business where we can make working from home our dream come true. A home studio allows us to work, make art and spend more time with our family. We are offering private classes, consulting, and commissions, all from home.

We have already begun the process of home-turned-studio, but there is still so much more to do. With your donations we will be able to finish our accessory building with insulation and air conditioning, purchase a kiln, clay extruder, pottery wheel, workstations, glazes, banding wheels, decal printer, carts for transporting work and more.
