Hawkchurch Primary School Outdoor Play Fundraiser
The children of Hawkchurch C of E Primary School, along with Hawkchurch Primary School PTFA have been carrying out various fundraisers in order to try and raise monies to replace the existing and dilapidated outdoor play equipment on site.
Unfortunately, much of the existing wooden equipment is no longer safe to be used, and given the huge hike in the price of materials, is now likely to cost in the region of £6000+ to remove and replace.
Due to the size of our lovely rural school, and as a result of Covid and being in lockdown for so long, the PTFA has found the ability to fundraise very limited, and where we have been able to fundraise, accrued amounts are minimal.
We have managed to collate over £2000 for this project over the last few years through annual bingos, quiz evenings and more, however, having exhausted all options with regard to accessible grants, and with no monetary assistance or support available from higher government, more than 10 students attending the school are proposing to walk a 'Marathon in a Month' in May of 2023 - and are asking if anyone may be kind enough/willing to sponsor them.
They will carry out their walks at weekends and will be accompanied by parents, with their miles tracked via Strava (or similar) - and their routes will be well documented.
Being outdoors is fundamental to the schools values, and we really have made the most of our beautiful outdoor space to embrace a new way of learning that is unique and special to us, however, the replacement of the existing trim trail and play equipment with an exciting new safer and more challenging/stimulating space will help aid the physical development of children through active play, encourage interaction between young children, and would provide a safe place to meet, play and socialise for attending students.
Whether large or small, every donation will help greatly, and we thank you in advance for your contribution to our cause.
