Hayden Newton's Medical Bills

Dear friends, family and community,

Hayden’s mom, Renee Upfold-Newton is a dear friend of mine and many others in the community. On September 16th, her son, Hayden Newton, collapsed in his living room. He was quickly rushed to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, where he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Shortly after, Hayden was admitted to ICU. The paralysis that had started in his legs had moved through his entire body. Since his diaphragm was no longer able to function on it’s own, he had to be intubated 5 days after the paralysis started. Hayden is currently in an induced coma and will continue to be, until he can breathe on his own. He has an extremely long road ahead of him. Once Hayden is able to breathe on his own again, he will have months of physical therapy where he will have to relearn everything…doctors are hopeful that he will walk again in 6 months, which will require hours of rehabilitation. This go-fund me is being set up to help Renee’s family with Hayden’s medical bills not covered by insurance. As many of you know, those bills add up quickly.
