Hayden Giebler's Brain Surgery

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Hayden Giebler. I’ve dealt with many things in my life…I started my life watching both of my parents doing drugs and drinking almost every night. I watched my father get abused by my mother and have seen things no child should have to see. My father managed to get his life together, but my mom just can’t seem to figure it out. We have a family now that consists of me, my little brother and sister, my stepmom, and my dad.

I’m fifteen now and about five years ago I started to get severe migraines that brought me to tears and my knees every single time. I went to Hays Medical Center to see if there was something wrong or anything we could do about it. They decided to give me an MRI to see what was going on inside my head. They found two masses on my brain that definitely weren’t supposed to be there. One of the masses is called a Cavernous hemangioma, you can Google it, it’s kind of long and hard to explain unless you’ve gone to medical school. The other mass they’re not sure about. After seeing these, they decided to send me up to Kansas City Missouri where I went to Children’s Mercy Hospital. They did another MRI up there and they saw the same thing but recommended I come back in a year or two. Two years later I came back and one of the masses had grown but it was nothing serious. So, they told us to come back again for another checkup later on. After three years, the migraines started getting so bad, we decided to go back again, and the masses had grown even bigger. We talked to the Doctor about it and he said that both the masses needed to be removed… as soon as I heard those words, a feeling of fear came over me. I tried playing it off cool in front of everyone acting like it was no big deal but inside I was so scared.

I think about it every night and every day just knowing it has to be done and there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s just out of my hands and I hate that, it makes me feel like I’m out of control of my own life. May 10th is when I get my surgery and it seems way to close. My family doesn’t have a lot of money and I would really appreciate any donation to help with this medical crisis. We will use this money for the medical and trip expenses and for the rehabilitation I will need after which will take some time.

I hope you enjoyed my story and I would be so grateful if I received any donations. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Hayden Giebler
