Hayesville Middle School Outdoor Classroom Seating
Welcome to the Clay County Schools’ fundraising site that will provide the outdoor tables and benches needed to create two outdoor teaching locations. Our school system sits in a beautiful rural town deep in the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. Our staff are family, and the education of our students is our mission. Below is a picture of the amazing place I get to enjoy teaching at daily.
Given the circumstances surrounding COVID and teaching through a pandemic, outdoor areas to teach are a true necessity. Having usable outdoor classrooms spaces is extremely important as learning can take off in entirely new ways in an outside setting. It is my goal to be able to raise enough funds to properly create classroom spaces outside on our main shared campus areas.
There are 2 main campus areas that are shared amongst Hayesville Elementary, Hayesville Middle, and Hayesville High School. I am aiming to fundraise in order to supply both locations with tables and benches so that they become true areas for classes to be held. The total table/bench needs come to 24 heavy duty picnic tables and 8 heavy duty benches.
The total monetary need for these items that will last a lifetime for our campus, students, and staff is $28,000. Please see the detailed description of the areas and there specific needs in the remainder of this project description as well as the direct links below to the tables/benches.

Area one, which is pictured below, is an area that is adjacent to the Hayesville Middle School library and next to several of the Hayesville Elementary School classrooms. In order to maximize the outdoor classroom capability, we are aiming to raise funds for 12 Tables and 8 benches for this first area. Each heavy duty table costs $959 and each bench costs $381. The area total to be fundraised for these items combined is $14,556. 
Area two, which is pictured below, is the area that is along the wall of the Central Office. This is located at the center of Hayesville Middle School and Hayesville High School grounds. In order to maximize the outdoor classroom capability we are aiming to raise funds for 12 Tables for this area. Each heavy duty table costs $959. The area total to be fundraised for these items combined is $11,508.
Please know that every dollar raised will go directly to the purchase of a table or bench for our lovely campus via the Clay County School Finance Department.
