Hayk Hakobyan’s Education

Hello, my name is Hayk Hakobyan. I was born in Yerevan, Armenia. Growing up, I was interested in learning and having higher education. I was raised in a single-parent household and faced with many difficulties from my childhood. My mother did her best to support our family, but it wasn’t enough. It was up to me to change my circumstances. When I turned 16, I had to work 14 hours a day to somehow support my mom and my little sister.

My goal for, as long as I could remember, was to get a high quality education to change my life and help my community.

After finishing high school, I was accepted into the Armenian state university of Economics. Unfortunately, I was unable to complete my education, because I had a duty to serve in the army for my country (ARMENIA). After two years of compulsory military service, I continued to work towards my goal of getting a higher education one day.

I did not allow myself to lose motivation. My goal was to study abroad and I worked immensely hard to do so. I mastered my English, participated in numerous international projects, led more than ten national groups to present Armenia in different countries, and worked very hard to involve individuals from rural areas in our surrounding community.

When I was finally ready to apply for my dream university, I learned that my hard work had finally paid off because one month ago I got a message which changed my life once and forever.

It said,

"Congratulations Hayk on your admission to the Bachelor's degree in Politics, Media, and Communication".

Now as I am a student at Masaryk university in the Czech Republic, I am more than responsible to fight for my education.

Unfortunately, my university cannot offer any scholarships to finance my education and I would appreciate any investment from you in my future. And now, I am here asking you to support me and my education. I realized that no amount of bad luck can outweigh your hard work.
