Hayley Sutherland's family fund
My heart is broken. My beautiful soulmate/best friend, 'my person' Hayley Sutherland slipped away peacefully on Saturday 20th February.
Hayley fought an incredibly, courageous battle with secondary breast cancer. She has had to leave this world and her amazing partner Kyle and her two gorgeous daughters Jessica (Jessie) four years and Georgie (Gigi) two years. She loved these wee girls so very much. Some of you reading this may not have even realised how poorly Hayley had been, or that she was even sick. This was Hayley all over, one of life's true warriors; always humble, strong, brave and a true inspiration to all who knew her.
Hayley so desperately wanted to stay for her little girls and Kyle. She was the most incredible Mam. So loving and caring. Seeing her transition into a Mother was inspiring. She was completely dedicated to giving the girls everything she could and after her diagnosis around 3 years ago, she fought so hard not to have to leave them.
Hayley was they type of person to always show up for you, to never let anyone down and would sacrifice for the happiness of others. She was the type of person to help anyone she could, even strangers.
Following university Hayley worked with the YMCA in Perth, where she helped to empower and inspire the lives of young people. She also raised funds for the organisation on several occasions, (one time she and teammates completed a 700 mile cycle raising money to employ 2 extra staff members). Hayley loved her work there and planned to return to this area of work when the girls got a little older. Sadly, her illness prevented this from ever happening.
God may have been ready to give Hayley her wings, but we were not ready to lose her. A real life Angel, giving hope, inspiration and love to everyone she knew.
My name is Lynsey Robertson from Dunfermline. Hayley and I met at college in the summer of 2008, then went to University together in Dundee and lived together. Following our studies we both lived in Glasgow. She was like the sister I always wanted.
I have received many requests asking if there is a funding page where people could donate to. Myself and Hayley’s other close friends and family are making plans to do some fundraising activities shortly. It would be so wonderful to be able to reduce Hayley's family’s financial burden at this very painful time. We would also love to be able to secure some funds for the girls as they grow up. All funds will be issued directly to Hayley’s partner Kyle, who will be set up as the beneficiary of this account. All donations received will go towards final expenses and to a savings account for the girls.
If Hayley touched your heart in some way and you would like to help her family, who are in the midst of tremendous grief, then please help, any level of donation is truly appreciated.
