Hazel’s Medical Crisis: Suspected Bone Cancer.

Donation protected
As a very private person, sharing this deeply personal struggle is incredibly challenging for me. However, the love I have for Hazel compels me to set aside my reservations and seek assistance in her time of need. This is not a situation I ever imagined I would find myself in, reaching out to the public for help.

I am Hail, and I come to you with a heavy heart on behalf of Hazel, my beloved. Hazel has recently been suspected to have Osteosarcoma in her right distal femur, a type of bone cancer that has rocked me to my very core.

On the 27th of May, Hazel suddenly started desperately screaming and limping. Along with aggressively shivering due to the pain. She was promptly taken to the emergency vet that night as this was severely alarming for me.

Osteosarcoma is a rare but aggressive form of bone cancer that primarily affects the long bones, such as the femur, tibia, and humerus. It commonly occurs in children and young adults, but can also affect older individuals and pets like Hazel. The pain and complications associated with Osteosarcoma can be debilitating and require prompt intervention for the best possible outcome.

For years, Hazel has been a constant source of love and support in my life, entering my world when I was just 17 years old. Now, at the age of 14, she is considered elderly and holds a special place in my heart as my emotional rock. Through life's challenges and triumphs, Hazel has been by my side, offering unwavering comfort and companionship. She is not just a pet; she is family. Hazel is also the last living connection I have to my beloved first cat, Sam, whose memory she helps me keep alive. Many of you have seen both tattoos of my Sam and Hazel.

The pain Hazel is enduring due to the deteriorating condition of her femur is unbearable. While medication has provided temporary relief, specialists have advised that the funds raised will go towards firstly testing to confirm whether the suspected cancer is indeed cancer or an infection.

Subsequently, the funds will support the next appropriate treatment steps, with the doctors' best recommendations in mind, such as surgery to remove the cancer or amputate the affected limb. Lastly, if it is the suspected cancer, chemotherapy will be administered as a potential option of treatment for Hazel's well-being and quality of life.

The thought of Hazel suffering is truly devastating to me. I am stepping outside of my comfort zone to ask for your support in raising the necessary funds for Hazel's testing, treatment, and medical expenses. The costs involved in such procedures are substantial, but the prospect of seeing Hazel free from pain and able to enjoy her golden years is my driving force.

Your kindness and generosity will directly contribute to covering Hazel's medical expenses and ensuring she receives the testing and treatment she urgently needs.

I am deeply grateful for your consideration in aiding Hazel's battle against Osteosarcoma. Your assistance, regardless of its size, will make a meaningful difference in Hazel's path to healing.

Below will be listing a google doc link to the veterinary documents/lab work done expressing the current state of which specialists explained Hazel is currently in. Along with documents and lab work will be paid invoices from the time of May 27th to present - as well as X-rays of the troubled site.

With heartfelt appreciation and love,
Hail and Hazel
