Campus Brewing's 'Hazy for Hazel' Launch

Donation protected
Earlier this year, Campus Brewing directors, Lisa and Richard, gave birth to beautiful twin girls. At only 3.5 months old, one of their girls, Hazel, was diagnosed with Opsoclonus Myoclonus Ataxia Syndrome (OMS). OMS is a rare condition that causes the immune system to attack the brain's nervous system, resulting in involuntary eye movement and developmental regression. It only affects 1 in 10 million people, but at Hazel’s age, it affects 1 in 300 million. Since it is so rare, very little is known about the disease.

In early 2023, Campus Brewing will launch a special brew to raise awareness and funds for OMS research at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH); and to support Hazel’s family and treatment. ‘Hazy for Hazel’ will be brewed by several local WA brewing companies, with 40% of profits going towards OMS research at PCH, 10% going to Hazel and her family, and 50% going towards further production of ‘Hazy for Hazel’.

Campus Brewing needs the community's support to get the first batch of ‘Hazy for Hazel’ off the ground. The funds will support the initial production and launch of the brew. With this kick-starter, the brews profits will then be able to self-sustain its output so that there can be a continuous fundraising effort for OMS research and Hazel, and OMS awareness.

A donation as simple as $2 will go a long way.

How DC Alliance are supporting local industry:

DC Alliance (DCA), a Data Centre local to the Canning Vale area, is a big fan of Campus Brewing and their team. When Nikki, the venue manager, reached out looking for support, DCA was excited to see how they could further support the business and the community.

DCA have volunteered their time and skills to create this page and begin the fundraising efforts for the launch.

Along with this campaign, DCA has brewed their own 'Edge-to-the-Cloud' Lager to gift to their friends and customers this holiday season. Each can is affixed with a QR code linked to this page, so their friends and customers can donate and give back too.

If you want to further support Campus Brewing or get your company’s logo on a ‘Hazy for Hazel’ batch, contact Nikki from Campus Brewing or reach out to the DC Alliance team here.
