H.B. Telling's heart transplant
Donation protected
When H.B. had difficulty breathing over the summer, nobody expected that he would end up needing a heart transplant.
Initially he was admitted to the ICU at Valley Medical Center when he went to his first cardiology appointment and was found to be in cardiogenic shock in November. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, which they think is strongly related to bout of COVID he caught back in May. After several weeks of unsuccessful attempts at improving his heart function in the ICU, he was moved to the Advanced Heart Failure Unit at Swedish Cherry Hill. He is currently at UW Medical Center where they are cautiously optimistic that he's a good transplant candidate for a new heart. He has been tentatively placed on the heart transplant list at the hospital. He will be at UW Medicine awaiting a heart transplant for the foreseeable future as he continues to be critically ill and cannot come home. His family [his wife Tina, his oldest daughter Lorelei (13), his middle child Caroline (8), and son William (3)] all miss him very much.
The most limiting resources to this family are time, bandwidth and energy, especially as Tina cares for their three children alone and provides support to H.B. in the hospital. By donating to this fund, you are providing H.B.'s family with the ability to cover the additional expenses associated with his prolonged medical stay including meals, transportation to/from the hospital, parking fees as well as assisting him in the event that he has a reduced income. Due to the unexpected nature of this event as well as the fact we do not know when he will leave the hospital, any donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support.
