HELP EVIE'S FIGHT AGAINST BLOOD CLOTS AND STROKES

My niece’s little girl, Everleigh, (2) has experienced more critical medical issues in the last 3 months than most people do in a life time! What began as a trip to Acute Care for a seizure ended up in the emergency room with a hospital stay, only to learn later that this sweet little girl had 3 different types of strokes all simultaneously. This left her paralyzed except for moving her eyes.
The left main blood vessel connecting to the frontal lobe of her brain had died as well as over 1/3 of her frontal lobe. All of this was caused by a blood clot creating an occlusion. Everleigh still has several small blood clots in her little brain causing occlusions in smaller blood vessels. The large blood clot that caused the 3 original strokes is still present. Everleigh regained a little movement in her limbs after 2.5 weeks, but she could not sit up nor bear any weight on her legs. As days progressed, Everleigh could not talk or repeat words. She could not use sign language, count, or identify colors like she had done so well prior to the strokes. The strokes had definitely taken a drastic toll on her little brain and body.
In addition to the blood clots in her brain, Everleigh has 1 very large blood clot at the base of her heart. Although she’s been on a blood thinner for 3 months, it has not changed in size or location. These clots in her brain and heart should be removed, but because of their size and location, a very specialized surgeon outside of the Midwest would be the only one capable of doing this delicate surgery! Thankfully after several weeks of waiting, sweet little Everleigh was accepted upon referral to the Pediatrics Neurology/Stroke Center in Austin, Texas on November 30th “on the basis of medical necessity.”
Both of her parents, Megan and Jordan Bicek are self-employed. That being said, they will have no income to take care of their other 2 children while they are in Austin with Everleigh, let alone pay for medical expenses not covered by insurance, travel and living expenses while away from home, or any possible Long Term care expenses for her in the future. Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy are required daily, as well as routine MRI/MRA’S and Echocardiogram’s that have become very costly. It was at this point that I realized they cannot walk this journey alone. They need help from the community. They would be extremely blessed by any financial help to cover these mounting expenses, and they would especially covet your prayers for their sweet daughter, Everleigh.
