Kerry's Medical Expenses
Don protégé
Hey guys! I'm sure you all have seen Kerry's latest post about his newest diagnosis. :(
(he can't seem to catch a break!)
His medicine cost is exorbitant to say the least. If we can help him out now, while we see if we can get some help from the pharmaceutical manufacturer, this would greatly help our sweet friend!

Healing comes with a heavy cost.
I’ve shared the Goode , the Bad and the Ugly of my journey we you and today you get another ugly. For the last 5 weeks I have dealt with constant diarrhea without an end in sight. Today I finally got the test results back and I received the diagnosis of Pancreatic Enzyme Insufficiency(EPI). For someone in my case, I can read between the lines and understand what I’m not being told.
I was given a prescription for an medication that I must take the reminder of my life. It’s a blessing that we are in a new era of medicine where breakthrough science is transforming patient care, but these innovations cannot improve the lives of patients if they can’t afford them. I received the following text message from my pharmacy and my heart stopped.
“PLEASE RESPOND: Kerry
We received Rx CRE. It's expected to cost $777.61. Reply YES to fill or call your CVS Pharmacy pharmacist for options 7709647167.”
I called to see if there was another brand or a generic form of the drug and the answer was, “No”. This is ridiculous, this unaffordable out-of-pocket costs is beyond my fixed income. But, there is more…I also learned that the cost without insurance is “$3,332.79” per month supply.
The sticker shock was so great that I didn’t have time to digest the fact that this is the third incurable disease that I now have. One that I will have to manage on my own because there is no way I can afford “$777.61” per month. This is literally a “Shitty Situation”! These people are the real drug dealer.
