HBCU College Tour 2024: Trip to Secure my Dreams

Hi, my name is Takara Phillips, and I am excited to share a fundraising campaign that is deeply personal to me. I am raising funds to support my journey on a Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) tour. I am a high school junior, and dream of attending one of the schools on the tour, “the Illustrious North Carolina A&T.” This year’s tour will take place from April 21st to the 27th, traveling to a total of 9 HBCUs: Morgan State, Bowie State, Howard, Virginia State, Hampton, North Carolina Central, North Carolina A&T, Spelman, & Morehouse College. In addition to the visits to the schools, we will also be participating in culturally significant experiences, excursions, and events at each destination. Lastly, the tour provides high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to present our transcripts and participate in on-site admissions. Therefore, allowing us to leave a lasting impression, on the individuals who will decide whether or not we are admitted to our dream institutions. The cost of the trip is $1400, which covers transportation, lodging and food. Your donation(s), whether big or small, will have a significant impact on allowing me to take part in this momentous and transformative journey.
