Sports for Ubuntu running for KDF International UG

My name is KeLebogang.
I will be running the London Marathon on 23rd April to assist KDF in providing and equipping young people from the Eastern region of Uganda with practical, educational and sustainable life skills.
To be able to run is a blessing. Doing it for the benefit of others is my way of giving back, a simple form of gratitude.
KDF is a registered non-profit, charitable organisation based in Uganda. It was formed to provide and equip young people from the Eastern region of Uganda with practical, educational and sustainable life skills such as:
Carpentry
Bricklaying
Wielding
Agriculture
Sewing
Plus others, such as sports and music.
Many young people from the poor communities of Uganda are victims of trafficking and modern-day slavery. They risk their lives moving from the villages to the city for the promise of financial security for themselves and their families.
Of those who have aimed to follow this 'dream', over 50% find themselves making the deadly journey across the ocean to the western world where the promises are advertised as if the streets are paved in gold and it's all for the taking.
This rural-to-urban migration has and still is costing many lives and negatively affecting many communities.
This is why, the skills that are taught are aimed at encouraging young people to realise their talents, develop their skills, and use their skills to build up their own communities. Using our build in to build out concept, which is aimed at building up the poorest communities to become self-sufficient and thrive within, we hope to put an end to these issues by showing young people that they can be who they want to be and make a positive difference by tapping into the opportunities within their communities.
Each of our projects takes on its own financial implications and has a step-by-step process to success.
This year we are focusing on our bricklaying project.
We are raising money for resources such as:
Sand
Cement
Tools
Concrete stones
Storage
Machinery
Your contribution towards this project is going to make a long-lasting difference in these young people's lives, their communities and generations to come.
Thank you.
