Family of Mighty Matthew Cech

My name is Amanda Lester and Lisa and Terry Cech are my aunt and uncle. They are currently in the hospital with their son Matthew (or Mighty Matthew as many of you may know him by!)

Matthew is a very special little boy who has been living with Mito disease complex l and lll and CIPO(chronic intestinal pseudo obstruction). He is the strongest little boy I know, and it's no wonder he is the way that he is, because his family is just as strong.

Matthew had a simple colonoscopy test last week in Boston. During the test doctors discovered that his colon was in so thin and in such bad condition that it needed to come out. Matthew then had emergency surgery to remove the colon. Since then he has been spiking fevers and fluid was found in his abdomen. The doctors have put a drain in to try and get rid of some of the fluid. Hopefully the drain will be a success and get rid of fever.

There are so many people that have done so much for Matthew and his family already, but as a niece, a cousin, and a mother myself I feel compelled to do something more.

My family means the world to me, and what straited as a normal procedure has left my aunt, uncle and little cousin in the Boston Children's Hospital. Because of this, they have been unable to go to work to make any sort of income, so any little bit will help. Even if you can't donate, stop by and see Matthews brother Steven at home alone. Call his older brother Bradley who is away at school in Potsdam, or leave a nice little message on Lisa or Terry Cech's facebook. Overall just keep them in your thoughts and prayers and send good vibes!
