Want to join us in making a difference? Have no idea how to give back during this pandemic and have no sewing skills?

We are raising money to benefit HealthCare Access Maryland (HCAM) and any donation will help make an impact!

Due to the many changes that have come to fruition through the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, 200+ HCAM staff members are now teleworking. Our staff members are on the front lines, serving our community members, throughout the pandemic. We are continuing to meet the needs of vulnerable populations throughout Maryland, and ensure that our clients basics needs are being met. During this time, we are connecting individuals to health insurance, especially for those that have been laid off.  We are also ensuring foster youth are getting connected to vital health services and ensuring all pregnant women are connected with prenatal care.

Our navigators are enrolling consumers in health insurance and answering questions over the phone. Last week, we handled more than 500 calls and completed 113 applications to enroll or renew 164 individuals.

Our Care Coordination team has completed 415 referrals for Medicaid Recipients in Baltimore City, making 110 referrals to link individuals and families to resources and services in the community.

In the wake of COVID-19, we are working towards the goal of having all of our staff members equipped with a laptop in order to carry out their essential every-day tasks that allow them to assist our clients and consumers.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause!

HealthCare Access Maryland is a nonprofit that focuses on getting Maryland residents health insurance, and helping them navigate the health care system. We focus on ones overall health and the social determinants of health that impact Marylanders overall well-being. We are making Maryland healthier by connecting residents to insurance and care, educating the community about healthier living, and advocating a more equitable health care system.

In addition to serving an important need, your donation will likely be tax deductible, even if you do not itemize your deductions. Section 2204 of the CARES Act amends the Internal Revenue Code by adding new § 62(a)(22), allowing taxpayers who do not itemize deductions to deduct up to $300 for certain charitable gifts made in 2020.

You will receive a letter from HCAM to use for tax purposes.
