Chris McGlade

Hello, my names Chris McGlade and I’m a critically acclaimed comedian, poet and actor of thirty five years, who’s now struggling to get work, basically, because I won’t conform. I’ve struggled on for many years now, without charging anyone to view my online poems which have gone viral in many cases, despite being advised to do so. To me, the messages in my work are more important than any amount of money.

But now, I’m facing going under financially, and for the sake of my family, I can’t justify or allow that, and so I have to try something. My new poem, “Our Nation’s stopped Rhyming”, is a thirty five minute piece, that I wrote when I was touring last year, with my critically acclaimed show about my dads murder and my decision to forgive his killer, “Forgiveness”.

This poem has taken a lot of work and time and so, I’ve decided to ask you, the public, if you are moved sufficiently by it, if it resonates with you, to make a small donation, just like when I do the Edinburgh free fringe festival and if people come to the show and they enjoy it, they make a donation.

You maybe wondering why I set my donation target at just £10? It’s because I have no expectations at all and would be grateful for anything, the same as when I do the Edinburgh fringe.
