Fundraiser for Dana Fontenot

I am starting this fundraiser for my dear friend Dana Fontenot. Dana has had to face serious medical issues in the past 8 weeks. She had to have an emergency appendectomy. After this multiple tests diagnosed Dana with suspicious spots on her stomach, pancreas, and gallbladder. Further tests revealed that Dana had gallbladder cancer. At this point she had her gallbladder removed. Two weeks later they removed her lymph nodes which showed that the cancer was contained within her gallbladder which was great news. Now she is waiting for her doctors to perform further tests to determine how to proceed with treating her cancer in the pancreas.

Because Dana had recently started a new job she did not qualify for paid time off. So far her medical bills or over $20,000 and she expects that number to rise once all bills have been received.

Dana has been a part of St. Charles Parish for 26 years. She has been very active in the school system as a PTO President and a member of a community outreach program thru the school board. Dana also worked at fundraising in her son's various activities including Boy Scouts, soccer, football and rugby. Dana is known for her big heart and her drive to help people in her community. I am starting this GoFundMe to help Dana and Neil in a meaningful way. I know there are so many people that love Dana and have been touched by her kindness and generosity. I'm hoping this will help relieve some of her financial burdens so she can concentrate her energy on getting healthy.
