Hi Friends and Family,

We (Taryn and David), are so excited to have the opportunity to run the Boston Marathon this Fall in support of Excel Academy Charter Schools. All of the money raised in this campaign will go directly to scholarships for seniors in support of their post-secondary goals. As teachers at Excel Academy Greenway, this cause means so much to us both! We continue to see on a daily basis the positive, challenging and supportive community the students, families, and educators we work with have created at Excel. Our students are INCREDIBLE and are breaking down barriers everyday. We hope this campaign will continue to support them in doing so in their post-secondary pursuits!

Excel Academy Charter Schools is a network of tuition-free, public charter schools serving the Massachusetts communities of East Boston and Chelsea. It was founded to address the severe academic underperformance and low college matriculation rates of the student populations in these neighborhoods. Our founders envisioned a free, public school alternative where all students would be held to the highest academic and behavioral expectations, and college would become a reality. Any donations are truly appreciated and will directly assist our students, the majority of whom are children of first generation immigrants in the cities of Boston and Chelsea.
