Housing Crisis

Update Dec 2022:
We have been informed that the rental agency will not be renewing our lease at the end of January. As a result we have to find a new place to live. And go through the whole hell we did last year at this time. We are currently pursuing options, but it is scary. Especially since I broke my ankle right after we moved in. Which caused it's own set of problems. Then in June $800 of income that went to rent was suddenly cut off without warning. We had no savings built up yet and wound up late on rent. The full story is in the latest post. Thank you for considering to help us out through another horrible holiday season.

Oct 2021:
As some of you may know, we have been search since August for a new place to live. I've been doing the majority of it and was finding literally nothing in the area we needed. Or we would wind up being the second or third applicant on a place. Now it is almost the 31st, when we have to be out.

I am sick. I hide just how sick, but it is bad. Any exertion causes me to get sick with cold sweats, nausea, pounding pulse, you name it. I can manage thing in small bits, but that is not enough to get us packed up in time. Kurtis is working 60 hour weeks at the moment and can't help much either. The kids are doing what they can, but they're teens. They can only do so much too and they still have school.

So what are we doing? Well, I have contacted several agencies after I received noticed that we did not get a place. This is due to a new debt that showed up on Kurtis' credit and having to do with student loans. Which caused a denial. We are working to take care of this issue so it doesn't bar us again. In the meantime, we need help with packing, we need help with getting a rolling garbage bin, we need help paying for an extended stay hotel room. Even on 60 hours, K's weekly pay would barely cover 7 days with taxes in a place that can take us.

The stress of all this is not helping my health. Daily heart palpitations and headaches along with nausea and other issues has left me weak. I'm trying, but I need my friends and extended network more than ever right now. If you can help, please please please do.

Our current plan is to try and fix the issues with K's credit while packing/moving. If we can't find a place or afford an extended stay for long, I and kids will be couch surfing. Kurtis will be living out of the suburban. And the cats? I still don't know. Help us not have to split the family up or lose our things, please?
