Help the Tadlock Family
Donation protected
I have known the Tadlocks for several years, and they have always pitched in whenever and wherever they were needed. They are an extremely faith-filled, kind, and humble family, and they need our help. They have had a harrowing past four months.
While on a flight to Orlando, FL at Christmastime, Sam had an ischemic stroke which required an emergency landing in Kansas. A month later, he returned home to California. After a weekend home with family, Sam had a follow-up appointment. He returned to the hospital, and after complications from another procedure, he had a hemorrhagic stroke. Sam was intubated and later had a tracheostomy as well as a feeding tube inserted. Due to the swelling from the brain bleed, he required a craniectomy, where a portion of his skull was removed. Once he was taken off of sedatives, Sam was in a coma for 2 months. In the last month, he has awakened. Sam is still receiving oxygen assistance through his trach. He is moving his left hand and swallowing a small amount of liquid, but cannot yet eat, speak, or walk. He has a helmet to protect his head, as he still does not have the skull piece which was previously removed.
His wife, Bonnie, is one of the most frugal and hard-working people I have ever met and is somehow meeting the needs of six children while running their short-term rental and visiting her husband at the acute rehabilitation hospital. Her visits to Sam are spent helping to keep his brain alert and active while working with the physical therapist and speech therapist to help Sam develop ways to communicate.
They will use the funds raised to pay for hospital bills, living expenses, and the needs of their growing children. The funds will also be used for accessories such as a wheelchair, speech therapy apps, transportation, and other services related to Sam’s recovery.
