Headphones for the Homeless - Keeping ears warm

Quiet Events is looking to help the NYC homeless by repurposing our broken headphones into earmuffs.

Quiet Events is a nationwide silent disco company with over 20,000 headphones in inventory.   Over the past 9 years, we have collected hundreds of broken headphones.  We have not disposed of them due to e-waste and in the hopes, we would figure something better to do with them.

Since we are a small business that has been hit pretty hard during the pandemic; we don't have the resources to execute this project without some financing and most importantly people to manage and help with this project.

We need PEOPLE to help with (Sign Up ):
- Figure out how to build these ear coverings
- Building the earmuffs
- Put them on each headphone
- Project manager to take lead and help coordinate everything
- Someone to help ship / distribute

We need FINANCIAL donations to help with:
- Materials to build the earmuffs
- UPS costs for shipping to shelters
- Hire a project manager

We are open to other uses for these broken headphones.  We have reached out to schools for those with autism and auditory issues to help with external noise/distractions.  If you have any ideas, we'd love to know your thoughts.

Ways that we are looking into making these:
1. Take socks, put them around, and cut them (Not ideal, but interesting)
2. Work with Senior Citizen Assistant living centers to knit them
3. Find Knitting groups
4. Reach out to headphone companies like Beats to donate their covers 

FYI, If we don't hit our financial goal, we still plan on making this happen. However, it does make it harder and possibly for next winter.
