Headstone for Phoenix Sinclair
Donativo protegido
The world knows her name. Phoenix Sinclair was a five-year-old girl with a life of possibilities ahead of her. In 2005 those possibilities were tragically undone when Phoenix was murdered by her mother and her mother's boyfriend, after months of neglect and abuse. The tragedy held a nation's attention as a $14 million inquiry was launched to discover how the systems in place to protect children so failed Phoenix Sinclair.
But would you believe that, 13 years after her death, Phoenix Sinclair still does not have a headstone on her gravesite?
There have been attempts to get the stone put in place, but obstacles have gotten in the way. Now, we'd like to finally get it it done. All we need is $1000 to make it happen.
If we are able to raise the appropriate funds, don't feel like you can't still donate. All extra money raised will go to child welfare charities, which are looking to make sure the recommendations gleaned from the inquiry are properly implemented so we can protect children in the future.
Won't you help out so we can finally give Phoenix the memorial she so deserves as her eternal rest carries forth?
UPDATE
Steve and I would like to thank everyone for their generous donations. Your compassion means the world to us. Together you all contributed to her legacy. We have achieved our goal of $1000 and rest easy knowing that a memorial stone will be placed very soon for Phoenix. The campaign to date has raised $1695 plus an external donation of $400. Some of you may be wondering and asking yourself: if we have reached our goal why are we still asking for donations? The answer is simple, as it has already been stated any additional money raised would go towards a stone for Phoenix's little sister who passed away in infancy. We are $350 dollars away from this ultimate goal. All monies will go towards the two memorials and anything left after that will go to a child’s charity. Again we thank you all for your kindness and compassion and even if you cannot afford a cash donation at this time, all we are asking of you is to hit the share button so that we can achieve the goal for the children. Thank you and much respect
