Headstone for Skip and Terri Scandirito
Donation protected
Many of you have walked beside us on the traumatic, arduous, detoured, bewildering road of losing Skip Scandirito. We're all collectively grieving his inconceivable departure from this world, while trying to find meaning in our memories with him and doing everything we can to hold onto the man we all loved. We've banded together in many ways as a united front in the pursuit of justice for him. The abnormal circumstances surrounding his untimely death are psychological imprints we will never fully heal from.
As a family it has been particularly difficult because we've not only had him taken from us, but we've been forced to face that his own son (who is of course also our family member) is responsible, AND essentially got away with it. The emotional, psychological, at times physical, and mental toll has been overwhelming. We've shared this and much more with many of you.
What we haven't shared much of is the financial stain this calamity has had on our family. We've spent 10's of thousands of dollars over the past year a half from all of (but not limited to) the following: cremation costs, burial, funeral expenses, everything associated with his house (utility bills, lawn and pool care, necessary repairs needed in the house as a result of the police investigation, extermination services, endless supplies required to successfully tend to the home, countless airline tickets, rental cars, hotels, miscellaneous transportation costs, etc., etc., etc.) His sister, Sharon Scobel has had the most significant financial impact of all. She has entered into a state of financial hardship due to all the money spent in this matter. It is to the point where none of us can afford any more expenses.
So many beautiful people came out to celebrate Skip Scandirito's life with us at his memorial in July of 2018. Although the commemoration was held, we did not purchase a headstone for both Skip and Terri. At that time, we were gathering money from wherever we could to cover what we saw as most essential. Unfortunately, we did not have enough money to include a grave marker to indicate where our beloved Skip and Terri are laid to rest. We have a strong desire as a family to get them a headstone and bestow upon them the dignity and honor they both deserve at their burial place.
We are asking for your help in purchasing this headstone. The total cost is $1627. There are some fees that need to be paid to GoFundMe. These are $75, so the total cost we need is $1702. You can see the sample companion marker we selected and what the stone will look like at Clinton Grove Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. Any donations are appreciated, no matter how small the contribution may seem --- we would be forever thankful.
Here is the latest update on the criminal situation in case you have not read:

Thank you all so very much for all of your support. Our family is very grateful for each and every one of you!
