Healing after a Brain Hemorrhage
Oscar Martinez and his wife, Zari, moved to North Carolina 3.5 years ago for her to begin medical school at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Little did they know that the hardest trial of their life was not going to be medical school itself.
On Sunday, December 2nd, 2018, Oscar suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage from a brain aneurysm. He was transferred by mobile ICU from the small county hospital close to their home to a major trauma center and was directly admitted to Neuro ICU where he continues to be hospitalized. Oscar’s recovery will take several months as he will stay in the intensive care unit for a few weeks followed by several months of neuro-rehabilitation.
We need help for our friends. At this time, Oscar is projected to be out of work for several months while he is healing, and the lack of his full income in addition to impending massive hospital bills will put a severe financial strain on them.
First and more importantly, we ask for prayers for him to heal and that the team of doctors and other healthcare workers will know how to treat him best. We ask that you please pray for Zari as she cares for her husband in the midst of the demands of medical school. Lastly, we ask for any monetary help, large or small, that will help support them through this difficult time in their lives.
Thank you and may God bless you for supporting them!
