Healing Buoy Boy
Donation protected
On September 30th, Buoy was struck by a person towing a boat on a trailer. Not only did he lock up on the brakes causing more damage, he rolled over him with each one of his axels, never fully stopping to assure that the dog was okay.
Two cars stopped, myself and one other younger man. Buoy took off to seek shelter, luckily he did not go far. I remained with the dog, called the police, and the owner who was identified on his collar. After discussing with the owner, it is to my knowledge that the dog not only escaped from a fenced in yard, he swam across a pond to the Agawam boat launch to reach the section of Cranberry Highway where he was struck. Buoy certainly lives up to his name.
Buoy was immediately transported to the Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists where he was immediately placed on oxygen and treated. The veterinarians later determined that he had a fractured hip and pelvis, pulmonary lung contusion, a laceration to his liver, a partially severed tail, as well as lacerations all over his entire body. After the initial deposit, the crippling costs which this family still faces is finacially detrimental at this time.
As far as Buoy's story goes, his first birthday was a short time ago on September 9th. His current owners rescued him to give him a second chance at life. I don't think this is how they intended his chance to be. That reason is why I would like to help them raise money to better their chances of helping this sweet boy.
All of the money raised will be sent to the Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists to help with the surgery for Buoy. Updates will be provided as they develop.
