Laying Jeremiah to Rest

Update: To help support our sister to properly grieve. So she will need help with expenses. Help with food. Help with necessities.

Help take the load off of her while she is not working for the time being. She will need to take some time off.

She will need help with funeral arrangements and everything that goes into that.

We are raising money to help cover the expenses that Kristina and the family may have during this difficult time. While she is a single mother with three other children at home, she has been at Jeremiah's side 24/7 and is unable to work at this time.

The situation: Before Thanksgiving, Kristina came down with Covid. She assumed when Jeremiah started feeling bad that he, too, had Covid. It wasn't until Nov 21, when Jeremiah started to hallucinate and act strangely, that she realized that something was very wrong. She took straight to the ER and the search for answers began. He was transferred to Memorial South Bend, and then, eventually to Riley's Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. Jeremiah was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, and had had to undergo numerous surgeries over his time in the hospital. He is still experiencing swelling in his brain as the doctors continue to do everything they can. On December 3, the doctors finally solved one piece of the puzzle when they discovered that Jeremiah has a rare infection called Nocardiosis. This has allowed them to better target the specific type of infection that is causing his brain to swell. The doctors are doing everything they can to help facilitate a positive outcome.

Jeremiah remains in the PICU at Riley's where he has a long road ahead of him. Kristina is a constant by his side, but she needs help with bills, rent, travel expenses for the family, and more.
