Healing for M, a Black Woman battling Lupus
Donation protected
Hi everyone, Elaina & Vanessa here, we have a request of you that will require your trust in us, and our collective effort, to get this done.
Our friend, "M" has come to us with the need of getting this GoFundMe successfully fulfilled. She has been navigating the endless pain and changes that Lupus is causing to her body. If you're not familiar with Lupus, it's a devastating illness that doesn't have a cure. Instead, living with Lupus requires lifelong treatment to try and reduce symptoms and flare-ups.
M would like to stay anonymous. For her, navigating this illness is deeply personal and private. She is so much more than Lupus and, understandably, doesn't want her pain to be on display for public consumption.
We ask that you give, share, and support this campaign until the goal is met. We ask that you bypass the ego-of-giving that sometimes tells us that we should know the intimate details about who we give to.
Some things that M would like you all to know, is that she will be using these funds to...
– Attain a vehicle paid in full, which will give her easier access to the medical care she needs.
– Take care of the ongoing medical expenses and bills.
How can you support?
1️⃣ Giving any amount
Yes we really mean ANY amount.
$10 keeps the momentum going, we know that campaigns are only SUCCESSFULLY fulfilled if there is momentum.
~ MOMENTUM ~
We're not just talking about financial momentum, we're also talking about the campaign's physical momentum through *our* social networks and *into your* social network. In your social network, you have friends and family members that we don't & won't have connection with. That is the POWER needed to make this happen.
2️⃣ Ask
Ask for people in your networks to match you.
If you are giving $10, can you find 5 people to do the same? That's a quick $60, that all stemmed from your $10.
We all have unique networks of people who care about us, by personally calling them in we can get this done. Asking for help allows others to plug into the unique support that is direct-giving to an individual
Don't be shy, if people can't match you – they can share with their own unique network of people that you and I don't have access to.
People asking us for help IS love.
3️⃣ Share, on repeat
REPETITION is important. When you think of M, or see us thinking of M by sharing the GoFundMe, reshare. It really is that simple.
Repetition in resharing = success.
- Maybe the last time a friend saw it wasn't the right time to give/share, but today is
- Maybe someone saw it and meant to contribute, but wasn't logged into gofundme at the time for easy donation, and then lost track of the gofundme. Happens to us.
- Maybe the first time someone saw it, they didn't feel the sense of urgency... but now realizing support is still needed, they are motivated to do more ️❤️
Action sometimes takes repetition, don't be afraid to keep it top of mind for people.
