Healing for our sister, Rosanna (Sany)!

Hi, my name is Julie and I am sharing this bold request with a deep wish for comfort and ease on behalf of my 2nd eldest sister, Rosanna. Last month, around the Autumn equinox, she was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Recently, she started a course of chemotherapy, and she needs support. So I am here, invoking the power, prayer and protection of the community on behalf of our beloved Sany!

My sister is so many things to so many people. She's a lifelong New Yorker, a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, friend, coworker, and licensed master social worker. She has dedicated her career to working with the families of children with multiple disabilities.

Rosanna gives so much in her day-to-day life, and now she’s the one in need of care. She supports her husband, who is disabled and her two children. Her youngest daughter is a sophomore in college, and her eldest is a recent graduate who is home helping both of her parents. Once Rosanna was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer, things moved quickly. So much so that she received her 2nd dose of chemotherapy this week.

Believe it or not, she is still working at her full-time job, is attempting to navigate this process with only intermittent FMLA and has been driving herself to/from appointments. All of this is extremely hard to do while simultaneously tending to her health. Of course, I’ve added her to my Lyft account, and I will gladly cover her rides to/from her visits. But, those of you who have accompanied a loved one through their cancer journey know that transportation is just one piece of the tapestry of support on a loved one's cancer healing journey.

Help me offer my sister ease during this healing process; comfort looks like time, and time looks like financial means. I wish her time to not worry about monthly bills and be able to focus on her healing and restoration in the present moment. We are up to creating miracles, including a complete recovery and generating $40,000! We know that with community this is possible!! This would allow Rosanna to fully tend to her healing and meet her financial responsibilities with grace and ease.

As we know, this is a marathon and not a sprint. After nine weeks of chemotherapy, she will have surgery and possibly more chemo or radiation. Your support will make all the difference in how she’s able to show up for herself, her family, and this process. The funds will help cover her monthly expenses, including mortgage, utilities, copayments, out-of-pocket costs, access to quality foods, meal prep, complimentary/holistic sessions and general wellness. I’ll be posting updates here as we continue on the road.
