Healing Katherine's painful acne!

The complexion you see is a "good" day for me compared to others. What you don't see is how much the redness, swelling, whiteheads and subcutaneous acne on my face hurts.

I have well controlled epilepsy, but the many medications I take that keep my seizures at bay have a bevy of side effects, from slurred speech to frequent heartburn. One of the more rare and most noticeable is painful side effects is the constant acne I fight with various over the counter remedies and simple common sense habits.

While I have been able to keep my acne at bay for years, this year it has begun to spiral out of my control. I need to see a specialist, but even with insurance my budget only allows a visit to a neurologist twice a year.

I miss being able to smile, to lift an eyebrow quizzically or laugh with my friends. I'm tired of people cringing when I take my mask off. I'm too ashamed to be in photos with my family, and too shy to even think about dating with a face full of disgusting pustules and blemishes. Even hiding behind makeup is impossible when it only makes my complexion worse.

Please help me raise funds for two visits to a dermatologist and whatever treatment they prescribe. My only wish is to look, and feel normal.
