Global healing marae
Self-healing is an integral part of kaupapa Māori traditions and belongs to all generations. The art of Mahi Raakau wasn’t taught, it was observed then done, time and again until they were happy you had it right. The Kuia would be the ones who conveyed these teachings. The knowledge of these teachings in our whakapapa (lineage) is being lost.
I am part of Maori Healers, which was established in 2000 to teach and share one of our healing arts like Mahi Raakau through workshops and clinics. It has grown where we offer traditional self-healing clinics at Kaitaia Hospital. We are frequently booked out as our community values the work that we do.
To safeguard our knowledge for future generations, we are committed to establishing a world-leading Māori healing centre. It will be open to people from around the world to come and learn the traditional arts of Māori healing, as well as other customary practices, as they were passed down to us.
We need help to realise this dream. The money we raise will be spent on purchasing land in the far north where we can build an eco-friendly self-healing centre.

Tourism
A cafe or restaurant for tours to visit and experience Northland hospitality.
I see a thriving self-healing centre busy with guests touring the marae, students attending classes and clients attending self-healing sessions.
Thank you for your support in preserving our cultural heritage, for current and future generations.
Please help us spread our message by sharing it with your friends and whanau on Facebook.
