Healing World of Domestic Violence Survivors
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Yatira. My daughter Yamirelis and I have created a Non-profit Organization called Healing World of Domestic Violence Survivors to help women that were able to escape a domestic violence relationship or home. I grew up around a setting where domestic abuse was normalized. But as a mother of 2 at the time I was able to escape and start a new life. They have a problem with becoming a victim to a survivor. Your mind doesn’t move on and healing never begins. It was a struggle trying to pay bills, keep a roof over my kids head and not be hungry. I worked so much that my mind, thoughts and pain within were still affected. Like banging or yelling would trigger my PTSD. I tried to get programs to help but they advised that it's been years since I was a victim. So I would work and make sure that I focus on my mental health. I needed to heal within my mind and body. I started to Travel with my kids, but I would be broke from those vacations coming home. Traveling every year caused me to be stressed about the bill to travel, but the getting away, the peace of not thinking of real life, far away from home that actually began my healing process. Little by little I mentally became stronger and started spoiling myself. My healing from hurt, anger and guilt slowly faded so I am able to talk about it today. My daughter and I are survivors and traveling and pampering has helped our mind realize our opportunities that can help others.
This program that we have created is to provide domestic violence survivors that same healing journey. I want to be able to provide therapeutic activities, pampering and retreat trips to a new place, new scenery and a fresh start. This program wants to provide these opportunities at no cost to them. Give them a chance and change to finally heal from the hurt, pain and past trauma.
This is something close to my heart for me and my kids. The funding will help my dream come to reality to help women that have been through the same experiences or worse that I have dealt with and those who are survivors.
Any donations are appreciated.
