#HealingForSimon: Support My Metabolic Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Welcome, and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page.

Your support—whether through a donation or simply by sharing my story—means the world to me.

Let me share why I’m reaching out for help…

My name is Simon, and I’m facing stage 1 colorectal cancer after years of managing ulcerative colitis. In just seven months, what began as an early diagnosis with no visible tumour has progressed to a 12mm growth. The only option offered by the NHS is life-altering surgery to remove my entire bowel, but I am determined to pursue a less drastic, research-backed metabolic therapy approach.

To do this, I need your help to fund the essential off-label medications, supplements and therapies that could give me a real chance at healing—without losing my quality of life.

The Full Story

My Journey So Far
For over half my life, I have lived with ulcerative colitis—an auto-immune condition that, after years of trial and error, I finally managed to bring under control.

Just as I was beginning to feel hopeful about my long-term health, I received the diagnosis that nobody wants to hear and changes everything: stage 1 colorectal cancer.

At the time of diagnosis, there was no visible tumour, so it was caught very early. I felt lucky, and compared to most, I guess I was.

While I tried to find help in the NHS in the form of oncologist or practitioners of some form metabolic therapies, 5 months went by. Speaking with my medical professor about what I was trying to do, I was told I’d be unlikely to find what I was looking for.

We scheduled more scans and tests as a part of monitoring, with my hope being that little had changed. Yet, in only seven months, a 12mm malignant tumour has developed.

While the cancer is not yet causing any major symptoms, I know that time is of the essence. The last thing I want to do is let the cancer have more time to grow (proliferate), spread (metastasise), and grow a mini life support system for itself (that’s angiogenesis).

The NHS Option—and Why I’m Seeking Another Path
The NHS has offered me a single, drastic solution: complete removal of my large bowel, colon, and anus, leaving me with a permanent stoma and colostomy bag. While this would address both the cancer and my colitis, it would also mean a life forever changed.

After years of hard work to control my colitis, the thought of losing so much of myself is devastating. I am finally at a stage with my ulcerative colitis where is it as controlled as it has ever been in nearly 30 years. I have no outward symptoms, cramps, pain, or other side effects like diarrhoea or bleeding.
In fact, you probably wouldn’t believe what a relief it is to just be able to pass wind without fear of “anything else” being there too. However, I fear I may be getting slightly of topic and possibly a little too graphic. Apologies.

To get back to the only option of life altering surgery being offered by the NHS, I believe there is another way. I would go so far as to suggest, a much better way.

My Metabolic Therapy Plan
Through extensive research and support from the cancer warriors community, I discovered Professor Thomas Seyfried’s metabolic therapy approach. This method targets cancer’s fuel sources—glucose and glutamine—using a combination of off-label medications, supplements, and lifestyle interventions.

I am starting with an alternative cancer treatment that includes various off labels, all of which have shown huge promise in cancer research. Alongside these, I have selected the top eight supplements with the strongest evidence for colorectal anti-cancer effects, based on clinical studies and trials.

The off labels and supplements alone cost over £350 per month.
Professor Seyfried recommends a glutamine antagonist for the full Press/Pulse protocol (costing £3,000–£4,000 just for a 12-week duration) which is also out of reach financially.
I am currently relying on more affordable alternatives like EGCG and fenbendazole to inhibit glutamine, which may not be quite as effective but have still shown promise.

Unfortunately, therapies like
• Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
• Molecular Hydrogen Therapy
• Cold Therapy
• IV Vitamin C Therapy
• IR Therapy with Methylene Blue
• and many others
are out of reach for me right now due to their cost.

If I can secure additional funding, as well as the full press/pulse protocol above, I would also pursue other aspect of metabolic therapy.

These could include:
• meditation classes to learn how to destress properly for healing
• acupuncture for its healing effects
• energy healing because it’s a fascinating topic that I couldn’t begin to explain how it works but has many anecdotal stories telling of its efficacy
All are complementary therapies that, while not cures on their own, have shown huge potential and benefits in pre-clinical studies.

Why I’m Sharing My Story Now
Until recently, I struggled to ask for help or share my journey.
But, I’ve learned that community support can make all the difference.

My research led me to Bernardo’s Cancer Warriors group on skool.com, where I connected with others fighting similar battles. Many there are also sharing their stories, and it is the first place I shared mine.

Sharing the Wealth of Knowledge
I even volunteered to build the www.metabolictherapy.com website for Bernardo to help spread awareness of metabolic therapy since it is quite difficult to find out about all aspect of it from any one source.

I hope that by sharing my research in the websites blog and experiences on the YouTube channel I can help others find this amazing research and to understand the science behind it.

Now, I need to put everything I’ve learned into practice for myself. I am committed to documenting my journey, sharing what works and what doesn’t, and building the resources for others who may one day walk this path.

What You Can Do To Help
Your support in my cancer crowd funding will go directly to pay for the medications, supplements and therapies I need to give the full metabolic therapy process the best possible chance of success.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings me closer to a future where I can heal without losing my quality of life to major surgery.

If you can’t donate, please consider sharing my story—awareness is just as valuable.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of my journey.

Simon.
