Heart Felt For Michael Fisher

Our heartstrings have been pulled and we are asking for your support for our brother in law, Michael. He is a devoted husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, and a friend to many. On January 22nd, Michael’s life was met with a suddenly. In an instant his life was turned upside down. I think we all have had those moments, when we received unexpected news, or when things happened to us or around us that impacted our lives so deeply. Michael’s suddenly halted all normal life for him and his family, as he would begin his heart journey.

On January 22nd, Michael went to Brooks hospital and was having trouble breathing, and was diagnosed with pneumonia. Thank goodness, the ER staff was concerned about his elevated heart rate and a test showed damage to his heart. Michael was transported by ambulance to Buffalo General. He was found to have had a heart attack in the past and severe damage to his heart. An angiogram revealed he had blockages in the arteries, and open heart surgery with five bypasses was needed to keep him alive. Michael had coronary artery bypass graft (cabg) surgery on Monday, January 29th. The surgery went well but the cardiac surgeon said the damage to his heart was more extensive than he expected and it will be a long recovery.

Due to Michael’s heart journey, he and his wife Holly have not been able to work. Unfortunately neither of them have paid time off. Family and friends have been kind enough to ask if there is anything they can do to help. Michael and Holly not only have all the costs incurred with him being in the hospital, no income currently coming in but also all of the bills associated with a household of eight people. Michael and Holly are also helping to raise and support their four granddaughters that live with them. We believe in God’s provision but also want to relieve Michael and Holly of any worry regarding their financial situation. We have appreciated all the prayers and want them to keep coming. There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.
