Heart Heroes- Funds for Baby Abby

Hello, my name is Shelby and I am fundraising to support Abby Brennan and her parents Samantha and Garrett Brennan. Abby was born on 10/17/2022 with a congenital heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot as well as Pulmonary Atresia with MAPCA’s . Tetralogy of Fallot is a rare condition caused by a combination of four heart defects present at birth. This heart condition causes oxygen-poor blood to flow out of the heart and into the rest of the body. Abby had her first open-heart surgery on Valentine's Day, 2/14/2023, in which conduits (or tubes) were made to redirect blood flow. Abby was hospitalized for roughly 6 weeks before finally returning home. Things were well until Abby's breathing and respirations worsened. It was then found Abby had a pseudoaneurysm coming off one of her conduits. This pseudoaneurysm has challenged Abby's breathing, as it grew to about the size of one of Abby's lungs. An experimental clip was placed in an attempt to clamp off the pseudoaneurysm, but the clip was not as effective as they had hoped. Abby has another open-heart surgery planned this Thursday 8/3/2023 to correct this pseudoaneurysm. In this next big surgery, we are all hoping the surgeon may also be able to help her Pulmonary Atresia. Abby will have another open-heart surgery for the VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect, a piece of Tetralogy of Fallot) in the future. I ask all of you to keep this family in your thoughts and prayers this week. And if you feel so inclined, assist us by fundraising for the family. All money raised will go straight to Abby's parents to help them recover from any medical costs as well as food/gas for their sustained time at Children's Hospital.
