WHO WE ARE

We are Midtown Neighborhood Alliance, a resident-led community 501(c)3 an organization located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, that works to advance the well-being, unity, and development of Midtown’s residents and community. Our neighborhood stretches from 20th to 33rd and Highland to North Avenue. We are one of the largest residential areas in Milwaukee and home to 3 parks, over ten schools and churches and a diverse array of cultures.

Per Milwaukee Historian John Gurda, “Midtown is set squarely in the heart of the city and a perennial meeting place, a neighborhood where Milwaukee's historical, geographic and social currents have always mingled. The result is a character more complex than you’d find in communities several times Midtown’s size.”

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Midtown Neighborhood Alliance is, "to advance the well being, unity, and development of Midtown’s residents and community.”

OUR CHALLENGE

Often our community is confused with Midtown Center on 57th and Capitol (formerly Capitol Court). Visitors, neighbors and fellow Milwaukeeans aren't aware of our boundary lines and, more importantly, the rich history of the Midtown Neighborhood.

We know that in order to stand firm in our mission to make the community more robust, we first need to unify around who and where we are. The Heart of the City campaign aims to garner funding to beautify and uplift our neighborhood.

OUR PROJECT GOAL

To create an iconic, meaningful, and powerful symbol that honors Midtown’s past, clarifies its present and inspires the future to be used for the unification of residents and promote harmony and beautification of the neighborhood and remind Milwaukee that Midtown is the Heart of the City.

Our goal is to install 100 neighborhood Identification signs on the street poles within the Midtown neighborhood intersection boundaries, 200-yard signs and four kiosks.

We are looking to raise at least $5,000 to make this transformation possible.

We thank you for your support.
