Fatal Hit and Run (Raven)
Dear Friends, Family and Compassionate Hearts,
On Sunday morning, 6/2/24, at approximately 7:30 am, my Raven, a 2-year-old German Shepherd, was fatally struck by a Ford/SUV truck on the Hartford Turnpike in North Haven, Connecticut. The perpetrator did not have the decency to stop. If you have any leads, video surveillance, or any tips, please contact Officer Capozzo at the North Haven Police Department.
Raven was my Dream Come True. For those of you that truly know me, you know just how much I loved her. Raven was my companion, my best friend, my protector, my confidante...my family. She will always be remembered and is irreplaceable.
I come to you during one of the darkest and most vulnerable times in my life. Raven left an immense void and grief is overwhelming, leaving me emotionally distraught. My home feels empty, and every day without her is a struggle.
I have always preferred to do things on my own and tough it out. It is hard for me to ask for help...yet here I am...genuinely asking for your help and support. I cannot overcome this tragedy alone, due to recent financial burdens.
I’m hoping to raise enough funding to offset expenses associated with her untimely demise and though no dog can ever replace her, the love and companionship she brought into my life showed me that I need a puppy to help me through this.
GoFundMe two specific goals:
1. **Cremation and Urn for Raven**: $385.00
2. **Cost of a German Shepherd Puppy**: $1,500 to $3,500 depending on the breeder
I promise you that any donation, no matter how small, will be used for these means and I look forward to readily sharing updates and photos of what I can manifest with your help. Please do not feel obligated to help financially...we are all in a different place in life and I am not the only one contending with financial burdens.
Thank you for your time in reading this, for your wholehearted support and genuine compassion. Special thanks to all who have given their support and condolences. And a very Special Thank You to my North Haven Community, to Officer Capozzo in his quest to bring the perpetrator to justice, and to my family for being there when I needed them.
Blessings to all,
Jonathan Gutierrez
