Help Us Celebrate Warren’s Life and Legacy

On January 17, 2025, our dad, Warren Riggins, passed away peacefully in his sleep. His death was sudden and unexpected, leaving our family heartbroken and unprepared. With no life insurance and the challenges of the current economy, we are struggling to cover the costs of his cremation and a memorial service to honor his incredible life.
Our dad was more than just a father—he was a hero to so many. As a veteran of the Coast Guard, he dedicated his life to serving others as a volunteer firefighter and first responder. If you knew our dad, you knew he was born for this work. While he might have had a short fuse over everyday things like dishes left in the sink or a messy living room, in a crisis, he was calm, cool, and collected—the person you’d want by your side when it mattered most.
His passion for service didn’t stop there. He became a 911 dispatcher for the county, bringing his steady presence to help others in their most critical moments. He also shared his expertise by teaching first responders at the local college. Growing up, we didn’t fully grasp how extraordinary he was. It wasn’t until we saw firsthand the unique role first responders play—being there during life’s most painful and traumatic times—that we realized the depth of his compassion and courage. He didn’t do it for recognition; he simply thrived under pressure and loved helping others.
He touched countless lives in Issaquah and beyond, and his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him. He loved this community and was proud to spend most of his life here, watching it grow from a small town with lots of open space to a bustling suburban city. He often reminisced about “old Issaquah,” fondly recalling Salmon Days, the old water park, and fireworks at the gravel pit. He cherished every moment and memory of the place he called home.
We want to honor our dad in a way that reflects the extraordinary life he led and the love he gave so freely. Funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will be used for his cremation and a memorial service, where family, friends, and community members can gather to celebrate his legacy. Any remaining funds will help our family with travel expenses to ensure we can all come together to say goodbye.
No contribution is too small, and every donation means the world to us during this difficult time. If you’re unable to donate, we would be deeply grateful if you could share this campaign with others who may have known or been impacted by our dad.
Thank you for helping us give him the farewell he deserves. Your kindness and generosity honor the love and connection he brought to so many lives.
