Justice and Help with Funeral for Death of 9-yr old Jamaria

Dear Friends, Community Members, and Compassionate Hearts,

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we reach out to you during this unimaginably painful time. Our beloved Jamaria Sessions, a bright and beautiful 9-year-old girl, was tragically taken from us far too soon. Her death is now being treated as a homicide, adding to the unbearable grief and shock we are experiencing.

Jamaria was a vibrant and loving child who brought joy to everyone she met. She and her younger sister had been living with their father, Lojuan Sessions, since October 2023, following the heartbreaking loss of their mother, Tadrina Dort, in 2022. Tadrina, who had bravely battled leukemia, succumbed to congestive heart failure at the tender age of 24. The girls had previously been in the loving care of their grandmother, Althea Chenault.

Since Jamaria and her sister were taken from school without knowledge or consent, we, the maternal side of her family, have been kept from seeing them. Despite our efforts to be a part of their lives and provide them with the love and support they need, we have been met with insurmountable barriers.

Now, faced with the devastating loss of Jamaria, we are humbly asking for your help. We want to honor Jamaria’s memory with the dignity and respect she deserves, but we need assistance to cover the unexpected and overwhelming funeral expenses. Our family is enduring unimaginable pain, and the financial burden only adds to our heartache.
