Mark needs a new heart

Mark Durante is in his early 40's and has maintained a healthy lifestyle. A few years back, he started having some heart trouble, and a procedure was done to implant a defibrillator, which uses electrical shocks to restore a normal heartbeat when the rhythm gets out of whack. However, he is currently in the end stage of heart failure, and is fighting minute by minute for his life. His heart does not have the capacity to be able to pump blood to the rest of his body, and he is in need of a heart transplant. The doctors deemed that his heart is not strong enough to make it while waiting on a transplant, so they opted for open heart surgery, where an LVAD (left ventricular assist device) pump was implanted to assist his heart.
Mark has already been confined to the hospital for over two weeks during this current treatment. He had just started a new job shortly before going into the hospital. Health insurance premiums have been prepaid for the next two months, but his employer coverage will expire after that.
Mark will be unable to work for an undetermined amount of time as he recovers from open heart surgery, and awaits a potential heart transplant. He will need 24 hour at home care once he is released from the recovery of the open heart surgery. At this time, there is no way to know how long it will be until Mark can receive a heart transplant. Mark also has the very rare blood type O negative, which makes finding a match for a transplant even more difficult.
Mark is a very outgoing person who really has a zeal for life, and he is a fighter! The Dr's claim that he was a walking, talking miracle when he first arrived at the hospital, because considering the shape his heart was in, he shouldn't have even been alive! But Mark is a true believer in God and also of His healing powers!
This event naturally has turned Mark's life upside down. And we all know stress is not good on the body OR the heart, so we want to do all we can to help relieve any financial duress so that he can focus on his recovery. All money raised will go towards basic living expenses, future medical bills, and premiums for future health insurance coverage. Without your help, Mark will be unable to afford extended insurance coverage. With no insurance, the medical bills incurred will be insurmountable. Without your help, Mark risks losing some of his most basic needs such as healthcare, his home and car.
