Help Heartland Marimba Festival's Future!
This fundraising campaign is to raise $3000 to assist operating expenses for the 2015/16 season, to support commissioning our 2016 Resident Composer, and to help fund our 2016 featured guest artists.
The mission of Heartland Marimba Festival is to reach many audiences in order to support and advance the marimba, its music, composers, and performers in all ways. This is accomplished through these four components: community outreach, educational experiences, generating new repertoire, and unique opportunities for professionals.
In 2015 (our second season) we doubled the Festival! With 12 concerts in SIX cities, a stellar guest artist list, and premiering six new works, we hope to continue this growth in 2016. But we need your help to make this happen.
I am excited to announce that in this season we are beginning our Apprentice Program for young performers and that we are currently working to become a nonprofit corporation. This season will also launch our Holiday Spectacular series in December with concerts throughout the Cedar Valley! In 2016, Clocks in Motion Percussion is coming back, but we are also having Michael Burritt as our featured guest artist and LA composer, Ben Phelps, as composer-in-residence for the Academy week.
We really are working to bring the marimba to a large number of communities, to provide many opportunities for performers and students, and to begin to foster more marimba performance possibilities for the future throughout the heartland!
Watch what your donation can do to support the future of the Heartland Marimba Festival. Thank you for your contribution!
