Hearts United for Sete: Give, Pray, and Support His Family

As the President of South Darwin Rugby Union Football Club, I am reaching out to our entire rugby community—both near and far—to support one of our own, Setefano “Sete” Cakaunivalu. Sete is not just a player for South Darwin; he is a highly respected figure across the Northern Territory, Australia, and within the international rugby community. His dedication to the sport and to his family has inspired countless individuals, and now, we have the opportunity to rally behind him in his time of need.

On Friday, January 24, 2025, Sete collapsed at South Darwin Rugby Union Football Clubhouse after a match against Casuarina and was rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital, where he remains in critical care following a suspected heart attack. Our club members acted quickly, performing lifesaving CPR before emergency services arrived, and for that, we are deeply grateful. While Sete’s condition is stable, these are still crucial days for his recovery.

We are raising funds to support Sete’s family during this incredibly difficult time. In addition to helping with immediate travel and accommodation costs for family members particularly those traveling from Fiji we are also seeking contributions to assist with the ongoing financial commitments that Sete’s wife and children are facing while he is in critical care. This will help ensure they can focus on being by Sete’s side without the added stress of financial uncertainty.
