Heartstrings for Alexander Izotov

Donation protected

Dear friends, colleagues, students and their families, and music lovers at large,

On behalf of violinist Alexander Izotov, devoted teacher, acclaimed violinist, gifted composer and arranger, and beloved colleague at Westminster Conservatory for over 21 years, we are appealing to you during a very difficult time for Alexander and his loving family.

In January of 2021, Alexander was diagnosed with brain cancer and underwent major surgery. Extensive chemotherapy treatments followed. Having contracted Covid-19 prior to the surgery, Alexander's health was already compromised. He is now home with his wife Laura, but his health condition remains dire. Providing sufficient home care is daunting, challenging, and expensive. The family is currently paying $5,000 per month for daytime supervised care. Future expenses are anticipated if and when Alexander’s family moves to 24-hour home care.

Westminster Conservatory has set up this GoFundMe Account for Alexander Izotov and his family to provide some relief from these costs. We are calling this fundraiser “Heartstrings for Alexander Izotov”. We hope to show Alexander how much we love him and appreciate his beautiful spirit and the extraordinary influence he has had on so many violin students over the past 21 years. This YouTube link should give you a taste of Alexander's devotion to his students and his gratitude for the opportunity to live and work in America. Alexander is at the piano accompanying his students as they perform his arrangement of "America the Beautiful".

We hope to raise $2,000 as soon as possible to be used towards the care for our dear friend and colleague, Alexander Izotov. Letters, cards, and/or tokens of appreciation are also welcome, and can be sent anytime to Alexander's home if you have the address, or to Westminster Conservatory, 101 Walnut Lane, Princeton, NJ, 08540: Attention "Heartstrings for Alexander Izotov".

Thank you.

The lyrics: “Wherever we are, our soul will always keep the memory of the city where we grew up and met our first love.” The accompanying video shows the memories we all wish to keep during Covid, people in groups, being together. There are also other beautiful songs composed by Alexander.
