We are seeking support for our loved one, Darryl Simpson, and his family. They are currently facing an incredibly difficult and trying time. Darryl, at just 27 years old, has recently received the devastating news that he requires a life-saving heart transplant. He is currently under the care of the Yale New Haven Hospital transplant unit, where he will stay until a match is found.
The road to transplantation is a complex and lengthy process, involving various steps to get on the transplant list and maintain stability until a donor heart is found. Throughout this journey, Darryl's family requires support on multiple fronts. Living an hour and a half away from the hospital, the commute has proven to be physically and financially demanding. Darryl's mother, Susan, who already acts as a caregiver for her own mother, has been tirelessly going back and forth between home and the hospital. To be closer to Darryl, she will be staying at a nearby hotel.
