Heart Transplant for Brian Hoyland
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
Please help us raise money for Brian Hoyland and his family. Nearly two and half years ago Brian went into heart failure. This was the start of and continues to be a daily battle for Brian as he fights to survive. Brian endured numerous treatments to combat the heart failure, of which included, having a defibrillator implanted and later removed after being shocked over 15 times, then having a pacemaker implanted in to keep him alive, two heart ablations procedures after which he received a diagnosis of cardiac sarcoidosis, an abundance of prescription drugs, numerous hospital stays, and dozens of calls to 911. Unfortunately, none of the drugs, infusions or surgeries helped. The doctors advised Brian that he needed a heart transplant, or he would not make it.
After a long wait, Brian was finally placed on the heart transplant list at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and then dual listed at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix. We were extremely thankful this week (March 5) after Brian was notified that there was a suitable heart available and Brian would be undergoing heart transplant surgery on Wednesday in Phoenix. Brian’s heart surgery was successful, and we could not be more thankful for the excellent doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix. While the success of the transplant has created a positive light in Brian’s path, it only highlights the long road ahead to recovery.
As you can imagine, there is a very high cost associated with a heart transplant and the past two years of medical expenses have added up for Brian and his family. There are a lot of out-of-pocket expenses that insurance will not cover. We have started this GoFundMe fundraiser in hopes of alleviating some of their financial stresses during his treatment and recovery. Please help us by sharing this link with any friends or family who may be interested in supporting Brian and his family. We understand that this may not be for everyone, however, any support and help here is greatly appreciated. All funds will go to Brian and his family.
We have switched the campaign to GoFundMe after discovering that HelpHopeLive funding will not cover previous medical expenses that have incurred. If you have donated to the HelpHopeLive campaign, rest assured your funds will be used for his current hospital stay and medical expenses.
Thank you
