Heat for Jay and Tonda and the kids
Donation protected
This Christmas season Harvey and I would like to introduce you to Jay and Tonda. Jay was Harvey’s roommate in rehab. He was 46 years old when he had his stroke about 6 weeks before Harvey had his. Tonda was Jay’s girlfriend who had to get guardianship of Jay because Jay had no family. Friends, you think I do a lot for Harvey, Jay and Tonda have six kids between them, four live at home! Enough said. Jay is ambulatory but he had to have his skull removed because of the swelling, replaced, was rejected, then a prosthetic. Jay cannot talk and his vision is impaired. His walking is much better than Harvey’s but he’s not running a marathon. He did mow the grass a little this summer, with Tonda right there, ready to jump in. Those are the moments we live for. So Tonda is a ROCKSTAR, PLUS the bread winner. She does a great job and manages money well. She managed to buy a house because rent would have been too expensive, now the furnace needs replacing badly. She just doesn’t have the money for the outlay of this. She has been patching together the old furnace, chasing good money after bad. I would like to ask you to join in helping Harvey and me put in a new BOILER/FURNACE(you know I may not know the difference)for them so they don’t have to face another day of it not firing up. This is a big ticket item but LOTS OF LITTLE DONATIONS ADD UP QUICKLY, we’ll take some big ones too , the fundraiser in me for those of you who knew me then. We’d love to be able to do the whole thing but with Harvey’s expenses, we just can’t. We’ve guesstimated the cost of the furnace before we get the estimate, it may go up a bit or down in the next few days when that comes in.This would mean the world to us, as they are part of our little circle who only understands our day to day struggles and victories with intimate compassion. Thank you and bless you in this holiday season.
