Heather Behmer Spinal Surgery

Hi this is Stephanie one of Heathers best friends. I set this go fund me up, as Riley and Heather are focusing on Droctors visit and her healing and preparing for surgery. We have set up a separate bank account for only Heather to access to get to funds to help pay for the things she is needing during this time. This go fund me has been created to help Heather with living expenses and medical bills while she has to recover, build up strength and have spinal surgery. This will require time off work from physical therapy, the surgery itself and the healing process. There is no exact timeline of how long she will be out. Below is the statement she has released to let everyone know what has been going on. I’ve been in contact with her and her son since this has happened. I personally know riley is taking time off work to be there for his mom. I’ve sent him funds for food and gas. So I know anything will help them at this scary time.

Update 2/11 : Heather is in the comfort of her home as she is preparing for her upcoming appointments, physical therapy and getting adjusted to her new meds. She still has a long road ahead of her. She still gets up sometimes and feels dizzy and the med side effects she is feeling. Still need a lot of prayers. Riley is doing amazing and he is preparing for the doctors visit and making sure Heather is healing.

From Heather:

”I am still in hospital and have been since Monday. When I collapsed at work, I incurred a very serious injury to my neck. The vertebrae is touching my spinal cord and I need extensive surgery. It’s very dangerous and involves a lot of preparation and planning. I have been put on strong anti-seizure medication and steroids. I am being monitored by both cardiologists and neurologists. The head neurosurgeon is putting together multipart plan to treat in the safest and most effective way so I have the greatest chance for living a long successful life without loss of permanent mobility. I have been haltered with a heart monitor. I am in a very scary situation and my kids are beyond scared. I will know a lot more hopefully tomorrow and days to follow. The medications are very difficult and effect my mood dramatically. I’m unable to drive. My left side of my body is numb. I have decreased motor skills and my balance is off and I am wobbly. Hoping to discharge from hospital and meet individually with specialists to devise a plan to successfully manage a plan so surgery is as successful as possible as it is dangerous being at spinal cord. If this isn’t corrected I’m facing possible and probable paralysis. The cause of the fall is unknown which is why cardiac and neurological specialists have to preform more in depth studies to decipher the root cause of the reason I collapsed, lost consciousness, and became not responsive. Signs of stroke were ruled out and they seem to believe it’s seizure/ cardiac related… not able to rule out either at this time because of the extensive tests already performed and others to come. I really cannot believe this is all happening. I have no way to tell explain this all to you as it’s so complex and I am in shock. So thankful for my Fair Texas Title Team Family for pulling together to keep business running soothingly without skipping a beat. They are literally such God sends and have been so supportive as they always are known to be by our wonderful community . My 20yr old son, Riley, has stepped up to help in ways that he isn’t well versed in and frankly beyond difficult to navigate without it effecting him as he’s very scared for his mama but he has been helpful articulate and my right hand through all of this . My 23yr old daughter, Jadyn, even though lives out of state is needing support and prayers as well to give her the strength and guidance on how she can best help and support from out of state. Please continue to pray for me and my family and we will update you once we have more information and clarity.
