In 2009 God laid it upon Rian and Heather Bess' heart to adopt, from Ethiopia. They had 2 boys of their own. They were hoping for 1 amazing little girl. Little did they know that God had THREE amazing little girls for them. It was a long journey to getting them home, however many blessings have followed. The girls were 8 and 2 year old twins. Those girls are thriving and doing great. Heather, homeschools all of her children. Her and Rian are the childrens pastors at their local church.
In 2014 Heather was diagnosed with a rare form of appendix cancer. She had several rounds of chemo before she went in for the "Mother" of all surgeries. This surgery was held in Houston at the MD Anderson hospital. She was there for several months before returning home. Heather is now CANCER FREE!!! Praise the Lord!!! However, they have a lot of hospital bills and continue to have to take trips to Houston for updates.
They are the most amazing people that you will meet. They would never ask for any of this.
I am one of her best friends. My late brother, thought the world of them. He said, he told God he would go home if it meant that Heather could live! John wanted to make sure that they were taken care of. So we have asked that instead of flowers and money for John's funeral, we would love for everyone to donate to Heather's Medical Fund. They have a seperate account that pays all of their ongoing medical bills. This will help them in more ways than we can understand. Thank you for all of your help and generosity.
