Heather is employed in the medical field, and contracted COVID-19 way back in late November. She was taken to the emergency room several times over the past two months with continued complications from COVID-19. Approximately three weeks ago, her blood oxygen level dropped to a dangerously low level: She was transported via ambulance to Ashtabula Medical Center, and immediately placed in ICU and went on continuous oxygen. She now has permanent lung damage resulting from COVID-19. The situation went from bad to worse. Extremely serious life threatening heart issues were discovered, and she was subsequently transported from Ashtabula Medical Center to the Cleveland Clinic, and underwent emergency 'double' heart bypass surgery, and repair of a damaged aortic valve. Heather's heart surgery was successful: However, she currently remains in ICU (Almost three continuous weeks now). Heather will have have a long road to recovery, and will not be able to return to work for at least two months. Family will help as much as possible: However, her medical bills will be well into the six figure range. She does have basic medical insurance: However, she will have huge insurance deductibles well above and beyond her insurance coverage - Add to this her basic living expenses, and a great deal of follow-up treatment while she is out of work recovering. In summary, it took a lot of convincing to get her permission to open a "gofundme" account in her name. Her sentiments were/are that many people are experiencing severe hardship right now, and felt bad about taking donations from anyone during the COVID-19 crises gripping the country. In consideration of the preceding, small contributions will be most graciously appreciated.
