Heather Brazier's Recovery From Sepsis

Donation protected
Hi this is Heather's friend Carol. I set up this fund to help Heather Brazier with her bills this month while she is in the hospital. Heather wasn't feeling at all well this past Thursday and especially since she lives alone, I encouraged her to go to the ER. It turns out her white blood cell count was sky-high and she also had a high fever! After many more tests and scans, it was determined she had a bacterial infection in her blood, meaning she is Sepsis and has Kidney and UTI infections as well! She was completely caught off guard as she just had seen her primary doctor at a regular checkup just 3 days prior, on Monday night. Her lab work from just the week prior was good. So much can change so suddenly!

Heather is in McHenry hospital and has several doctors attending to her, including an Infectious Disease Doctor. Heather is on IVs for fluids and strong antibiotic IVs as well round-the-clock. She is also taking many supplements as the doctors try to get her numbers stabilized. It's been a bit of a roller-coaster for her these past few days.

Of course, as we know Heather, the number one concern she has for her doctors is: "when will I get better and get released so I can get back to work???"

One of her nurse's remarked to her that she seemed very anxious and stressed and she is, not so much about what is going on as to how she is going to pay her bills since she is in the hospital and cannot work. The doctors had told her it is quite common that once sepsis has set in, it may take a week or longer before she will have overcome everything, let alone go back to work immediately.

Heather, as you know, is self-employed with her own hair dressing business. She also recently started a 2nd job, so she is working 7 days a week currently but there is no pay if she is not physically working. She lives alone and needs to pay her rent for both her home and her salon studio in Deer Park even if she cannot work, or she will be in danger of loosing both.

If you are able to help Heather financially in any way, any amount will help, she would be so appreciative. Understandably, not everyone can, so please send positive thoughts and prayers for her to get better and back to work quickly!

It will really go a long ways towards Heather's recovery if she didn't have to stress out so much about bills and money. Her blood pressure on the machine was going way up when she was just talking about how she needed to get back to work with a nurse. She really needs just to focus on getting better right now. Thank you for keeping Heather in your thoughts!
Heather can speak on the phone, but texting may be better right now if you wish to reach out to her. She needs to get rest as much as she can and let her body start the healing process. I will make updates when there are changes. But she is getting the best care and when she does feel like eating, she says this hospital does have great food! That's always a plus! Thank you!
